PURPOSE:To achieve the cost reduction and speedup of a light emitting element array driving circuit by simplifying the circuit and reducing a circuit scale. CONSTITUTION:Serial printing density data DT composed of M-bits (wherein M at every pixel are an integer of 2 or more) are inputted to a register part 61 in parallel at every bits and a selector circuit 63 synthesizes the digital signal setting the light emitting time of a light emitting element 41 from the data at every bits based on the parallelly inputted data DT. A driver part 61 drives the digital signal to allow the light emitting elements of a light emitting element array 40 to emit lights. On the basis of the length of this light emitting time, printing subjected to density gradation at every pixel is performed.
