<p>PURPOSE: To compile a plurality of jobs into a single assembled job in a printing system equipped with a printer and a scanner which are adapted in such a manner that a job is converted into a set of electronic pages, and also, is decoded into a mechanically readable code. CONSTITUTION: An image printing system 2 to process a printing job, is divided into an image input section 4, a controller section 7, and a printer section 8. In this case, in the controller section 7, a set of electronic pages is stored. Also, in order to support the location of the stored job, a specific job identification element is allotted to the stored job. In addition, a job reference sheet is printed so that the specific job identification element may be designated in the job reference sheet by a mechanically readable code. Then, the job reference sheet is scanned in order to read the mechanically readable code, and the stored set of electronic pages is retrieved.</p> |
