PURPOSE:To enhance a throughput by a method wherein after completion of image forming, image data is cleared from a memory and succeeding image data is received without waiting discharge of a recording medium outside a machine, and a retransmission request is outputted to a host at the occurrence of jamming. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 is scanned by video data for one page transmitted from a control part 16 through a video interface 18, whereby an electrostatic latent image is formed thereon. After completion of image forming, the image data stored in a buffer memory of the control part 16 is not needed. Therefore, in said memory, the area storing the image data is immediately released. The processing in the control part 16 is changed to the reception of succeeding image data or the like. If jamming occurs after forming of an electrostatic latent image before discharge of paper, a retransmission request is outputted to a host from the control part 16 through an external interface 19 just after the jamming is eliminated. In this manner, the printing data from the host is received by the control part 16. |
