PURPOSE:To provide a mold for continuous casting, by which the thickness of solidified shell is uniformalized and also, cracking in a cast slab is prevented and a high quality product can be produced, in continuous casting. CONSTITUTION:On the inner surface of the mold 1 used for continuous casting using powder, plural projecting and recessing parts 5 having 0.1-3mm diameter and 5-300mum depth are uniformly arranged. This projecting and recessing parts 5 are formed to round shape or elliptic shape by etching or shot-blasting. The position forming the projecting and the recessing parts is preferably in the range of 20-150mm from the molten metal surface. |
