A hose assembly (1) comprises an end fitting having insert and ferrule portions (2, 3) which compress therebetween an end of a hose (5) having a liner (11) and a surrounding reinforcement (9). The insert (2) is sized to fit the bore of the liner (11) and carries an adaptor ring (4) having an outer diameter corresponding to the diameter of the reinforcement. An end portion of the liner (11) is removed so that in the assembly the end of the reinforcement (9) can extend over the adaptor ring (4) and be compressed thereon by the ferrule (3). The adaptor ring (4) may be deformable to provide a mechanical interlock with the reinforcement (11). |
