The fail safe apparatus is made for a small-size and easy to get assembled in the automobile engine room by equipping an electronic pressure-proportional relief valve actuating within a little flow range. The fail safe apparatus comprises a throttle valve (10) controlling the flow in oil supply lines (Ls1,Ls2); a 2-port-2 position type throttle valve (20) controlling the flow in oil feedback lines (Lr1,Lr2); a relief valve (30) controlling the throttle valve (10); another relief valve (40) controlling the throttle valve (20); orifices (50,60) positioned between oil inlets of the relief valves (30,40); a check valve (70) checking the flow in the oil feedback line (Lr1).
