Protective sleeve (8) fitted around a remote manipulator slave arm. The sleeve (8) is split (15) and has adhesive strips (14 and 17) for covering the slit and for tightening onto the slave arm (4). This feature makes it possible for the sleeve (8) to be opened easily by remote manipulator when it has to be removed in order to replace or maintain the slave arm.
