PURPOSE:To obtain the leaky wave NRD guide (non-radiative dielectric line) whose band is selected to be wide by providing two discontinuous elements at a specific interval on a dielectric strip and canceling reflected waves generated from the discontinuous elements so as to prevent deterioration in the impedance. CONSTITUTION:The NRD guide has a structure of a dielectric strip 13 inserted between parallel metallic plates 11,12. A 1st discontinuous element 14 is provided to the dielectric strip 13 at an interval of lambdag and 2nd discontinous elements 15,16 are provided to a position apart from the element 14 by an interval of lambdag/4 symmetrical in the vertical direction to each other, where A is a wavelength of a wave propagated in free space. The 1st, 2nd discontinous elements 14-16 are formed by providing a notch to the dielectric strip 13 at an interval of lambdag in general. Thus, the 1st discontinuous element 14 acts like an element emitting a radio wave and the 2nd discontinous elements 15, 16 act like a matching element to cancel a reflected wave from the 1st discontinous element 14 thereby eliminating a return loss. |
