PURPOSE:To perform tracking control with high accuracy by sampling a light receiving signal for a specified period and irradiating a recording medium with a light beam based on the output signal. CONSTITUTION:An optical pickup 8 condenses emitted light L1 from a laser diode on the information recording surface of the optical disk 2 through a specified optical system, and an optical disk device 1 switches the quality of the light beam L1 in response to a recording signal. The optical disk 2 is irradiated with the light beam L1, the pickup 8 drives a focusing coil 9 and a tracking 10 according to a specified driving signal, and the beam L1 is condensed on the recording surface by an objective lens. Furthermore, the pickup 8 receives reflected light from the disk 2 through the objective lens to guide the reflected light to a photodetector. The reflected light received by the photodetector is sampled for a specified period, and an output signal is outputted. Based on the output signal, the disk 2 is irradiated with the light beam and the tracking 10 is driven, thereby performing the tracking control with high accuracy. |
