PRODUCTION OF NAPHTHALENEDICARBOXYLIC ACID

PURPOSE:To facilitate the separation of naphthalenedicarboxylic acid by growing the crystal size of fine crystals of this acid formed by oxidation of dialkylnaphthalene. CONSTITUTION:In the oxidation stage in the production of naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, the fine particles of the crystals of this acid in the reaction mother liquor or the washing filtrate are fed again into the oxidation reactor to permit the crystal particles to grow up to suitable sizes for the solid-liquid separation.
