PURPOSE:To control the luminance on the screen of a television in accordance with the lightness in a room. CONSTITUTION:A television 5, an operation switch 8 of this television 5, an illuminance sensor 6 which detects the lightness in a bathroom 2, and a luminance control means 7 which controls the luminance on the screen of the television 5 based on the detection signal of the sensor 6 are provided in the bathroom 2 whose ceiling 2a is provided with lighting fixtures, 4a, 4b, and 4c. By this constitution, the luminance control means 7 controls the luminance on the screen of the television 5 to an optimum value based on the illuminance signal detected by the illuminance sensor 6 when the switch 8 of the television 5 is turned on. Consequently, the luminance on the screen of the television is always kept most suitable regardless of the change of the lightness in the room. |
