PURPOSE:To provide a microdiameter measuring equipment for measuring the diameter of a wire drawing die and the wire drawn thereby precisely using an image magnified by a microscope. CONSTITUTION:The microdiameter measuring equipment comprises a microscope 1 produce an magnified image of a wire drawing die 15 or a wire drawn thereby, a CCD camera 3 for picking up the image magnified by the microscope 1, an image processor 4 for digitizing the output from the camera 3 and detecting the coordinate of edge to operate the diameters of the die and the wire, a microscope controller 2 for automatically regulating the quantity of illuminating light and the aperture diaphragm for the microscope 1, and a system controller 5. The system controller 5 comprises a memory for storing the optimal values of preset quantity of illuminating light and aperture diaphragm and a correlation formula between actually measured hole diameter of wire drawing die and the wire diameter, and an operating section for controlling the microscope controller 2 optimally based on the values stored in the memory and predicting the value of one of the measured hole diameter or wire diameter based on the other value. |
