<p>PURPOSE:To recover sulfur from a highly efficient coal gasifying plant of an inexpensive device cost. CONSTITUTION:In a method for recovering sulfur from a coal gasifying plant by gasifying coal 9 using oxygen 6 separated from air as a gasifying agent, desulfurizing the gas 11 to give a sulfur compound-containing exhaust gas 25, recovering the sulfur compound as gypsum by lime-gypsum method, the sulfur compound-containing exhaust gas 25 is diluted with nitrogen 8 obtained during separation of oxygen 6. The cost of devices, power requirements and operating cost of the coal gasifying plant can be extremely reduced.</p> |
