PURPOSE:To produce a sintered rare earth magnet principally applicable to the motor in an automobile in which magnetic characteristics are enhanced while reducing the cost by adding a trace of B element into a CeCo based magnet alloy having high corrosion resistance thereby increasing the quantity of Fe without increasing the quantity of Cu. CONSTITUTION:The sintered rare earth magnet is represented by a formula R(Co1-x-y-a-bFexCuyMaBb)z (where, R represents at least one kind of rare earth including Ce, M represents at least one kind of Zr, Ti, 0.20-<=x<=0, 0.10<=y<=0.20, 0.005<=a<=0.03, 0.001<=b<=0.02 and 4.8<=z<=6.0 represent atomic ratios). The ratio of Co in the mixture of Co, Fe, Cu, M and B is set at 60 atomic % or less. Main phase of the sintered magnet has the structure of hexagonal system CaCu5 and the maximum energy product is 15 MGOe or above. |
