The invention relates to a process for preparing saccharin derivatives which have the formula I and which can be used as inhibitors of a proteolytic enzyme, <IMAGE> where L is -O-, -S-, -SO- or -SO2-; (a) m = 0 and n = 0, (b) m = 1 and n = 1, or (c) m = 1 and n = 0; and R1, R2, R3 and R4 represent different substituents of organic compounds. The invention also relates to processes for preparing intermediates <IMAGE> which can be used when preparing the compounds (I).
