PURPOSE:To prevent the disconnection of electrodes disposed in the upper parts of color filters or protective films by the extremely sharp level difference between the color filters and substrates or between the protective films on the color filters and the substrates. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is constituted by forming the color filters 20 on at least one of the substrates 10, providing the upper parts of the color filters 20 with the electrodes 40 and coating the edge parts 50 of the color filters 20 with films 60 having curvature. Further, the protective films 30 are formed in the upper parts of the color filters 20 and the electrodes 40 are disposed in the upper parts of the protective films 30. The edge parts 50 of the protective films 30 are coated with the films 60 having the curvature. This process for production of the liquid crystal display device consists in disposing the films 60 by a printing method, such as an offset method or screen method or flexographic method, etc., for the films 60. |
