PURPOSE:To automate an ultrasonic flaw detector for an axle and also to make the reproducibility of the result of flaw detection excellent. CONSTITUTION:An aerial ultrasonic probe 21, a vertical probe 22 and a displacement sensor 24 are disposed in each of probe heads 2a and 2b, movement amount detecting parts 4a and 4b for detecting the amounts of movement of the probe heads 2a and 2b are provided and detection of a center hole, a screw hole and a carved mark in the end face of an axle 1 is conducted. Besides, setting of a gate at the time of flaw detection in an ultrasonic flaw detector 5 is divided and executed sequentially. |
