PURPOSE:To provide the carrier which has high dimensional precision characteristic and alkaline washing resistance, is less adhered and adsorbed with a strong alkali and makes the strong alkali easily removable. CONSTITUTION:The information recording medium carrier is so produced that the surface of the part of an information recording medium, such as hard disk, information recording medium substrate made of aluminum, etc., or washed substrate, in contact with the half-finished product of the information recording medium consists of a thermoplastic norbornane resin, such as hydrogenated ring opening polymer of 6-methyl-1, 4:5, 8-dimethano-1, 4, 4a, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8a- octahydronaphthalene. The carrier is then provided with the excellent dimensional precision characteristic and is not deformed and deteriorated in properties in spite of a washing treatment by the strong alkali, such as ultrasonic washing for 20 minutes by immersing the carrier into an aq. soln. of 20wt.% sodium hydroxide heated to 60 deg.C. Further, the adhesion and adsorption of the strong alkali are lessened and the strong alkali is easily removable by a rinsing treatment with pure water, etc. |
