Measuring device in the form of a compact apparatus intended to generate microwave electromagnetic waves, to a connector of which a cable followed by a wave transmitter/receiver (transceiver) are connected, having the purpose of non-destructive testing of dielectric materials, plastic or natural composites. This device is also intended to be capable of receiving the wave coming from the material to be tested and of comparing it with the emitted wave and to obtain therefrom data which can be employed on a display device. It consists of a wave source (1), or generator, connected to a reflectometer (2) combined with microwave detectors (3). An isolator device (4) protects the generator, and the connection between these components being produced by waveguides (5). After the reflectometer there is a coaxial guide junction (6), and a coaxial connector (7) located at the front face of the chassis casing (8) incorporating the assembly. This casing also contains, combined with the reflectometer and with the detectors, an electronic system (13) comprising an adaptor (14), a balancing circuit (15), a calibrated amplifier (16), and a phase-shifter (17) making it possible to supply usable signals to the display device (12). <IMAGE>
