A covering for at least one transformer winding, carried by a coil former which has flanges, comprises at least two dimensionally stable mouldings (15, 15', 16, 16'), which can be assembled without any gaps and form a hollow body surrounding the winding (7, 8). The two end edge zones (15', 16') of the said hollow body can be joined, forming in each case one joint extending in the peripheral direction, by means of material sections, engaging over one another or into one another, to the flanges (5) of the coil former (1) and/or insulating bodies (11), provided in the region of these flanges (5) and having flange-like edge regions (11''). <IMAGE>
