Carpometacarpal prosthesis comprising a combination of the following elements: - a cup-shaped body (2) of small dimensions which is fixed so as to rest against the scaphoid bone (4) and is immobilised with a screw (3); - an insert (5) of a plastic which is inserted in the cup (2) and has a spherical cavity (50) in its interior; - and an anchorage shaft (6) having a triangular profile whose one free end has a spherical head (61) interacting with the cavity (50) in the insert (5). <IMAGE>
