Electrical substation (transformer substation)

The electrical substation comprises a chamber (2) having walls (3) which enclose a transformer and associated electrical installations (5, 6). The heat produced by the transformer is dissipated by a fan (7) which produces an air flow along the walls (3), and by a cooling circuit (11) which comprises a refrigerating unit (12) in the vicinity of the transformer and a serpentine cooling coil (15) in the wall (3), which ensure effective heat dissipation. The heat which is produced can likewise be used by an external installation (20). This arrangement allows independent cooling of the substation, the problems associated with air filtration, moisture and water ingress being avoided. <IMAGE>
