The invention relates to a mobile transceiver unit with an antenna. This can be, for example, a handheld radio unit, in particular a mobile radio unit. With this type of unit, there are problems with long-term power supply and possibly hazardous radiation. According to the invention, at least one solar cell for generating power and for protecting the head of the person using the unit is fitted below the antenna on a spacer which is disposed between the unit and the antenna. The transmitting and receiving time can be substantially extended and, in the presence of strong solar radiation, it may be possible to dispense with rechargeable batteries.
