Controllable instrument support

The invention relates to a controllable instrument support for use in medical diagnostics and minimally invasive surgery. The distant end of the guide pipe is followed by a moveable region of the instrument support which is pivotable in a plane symmetrically about the extended position. The moveable region and the guide pipe have a continuous slot reaching almost to the operating member of the instrument. An easily exchanged tensioning device at the end of the moveable member permits simple attachment of an instrument for diagnosis or for minimally invasive surgery whose contour is larger than the width of the instrument support channel. The connection to the operating member is pushed through the slot into the instrument support channel. The slot width, which is smaller than the channel, prevents the connection from falling out, so that time-consuming threading of an instrument through the channel is dispensed with.
