The invention relates to an actuating crank for installation into a vehicle door, in particular for arrangement in the region of a vehicle door which carries out a swing and/or sliding movement, having a crank arm and a crank knob which is fastened at the free end of the crank arm. In order to design an actuating crank such that, with ergonomically favourable positioning of the actuating crank, the vehicle door, which is pivoted and displaced, can be opened without difficulty, the crank arm is subdivided into at least two parts and, by means of a mechanism, can be shortened in length and returned to its original length again, into an actuating position.
