The device serves to test telecommunications equipment. The device has a controller and at least one adapter which connects the controller to the telecommunications equipment. A terminal adapter provided to connect a terminal is fitted with both an analogue and a digital interface. The terminal adapter has an interface which enables connection to a keyboard area of the terminal. The terminal adapter is provided with actuation elements for key contacts of the terminal and a transformer is provided in the analogue interface for coupling with an earpiece connection of the terminal and with a microphone connection of the terminal.
