In the process for the assembly of cassette halves with a pair comprising an upper and lower cassette half (1a, 1b), which are coupled to each other, after separating the halves from each other the upper cassette half or the lower cassette half is turned round in order that the two halves face upwards, both the upper and lower cassette halves being presented parallel to each other, inner components are fitted into the upper and lower cassette halves while they are presented in an upwardly facing state, and after that the upper cassette half is coupled to the lower cassette half. After the assembly of the inner components, the upper cassette half is rotated and moved along the presenting direction on its presenting surface and is consequently turned into its downwardly facing state, the lower cassette half is horizontally raised, the upper cassette half is horizontally rotated, in order as a result to be moved to a position above the lower cassette half, and the upper cassette half (1a) is coupled to the lower cassette half (1b). <IMAGE>
