Device for generating a downward-directed force on an implement (1) coupled to a tractor, such as, for example, an equalising roller (4) carried by an implement frame (2), a normal three-point lift device of the tractor being used for coupling the implement frame to the tractor. Between the tractor and the implement frame (2) there are means for transmitting some of the weight of the tractor to the implement frame (2), the said means comprising a pressure-medium cylinder (5), one end (6) of which is connected in an articulated manner to the implement frame (2) and the other end (7) of which is directly or indirectly connected in an articulated manner to the upper point of articulation of the tractor, whilst one side of the pressure-medium cylinder (5) can be brought under an adjustable pressure.
