摘要 PURPOSE:To achieve a higher efficiency of flaw detection work by a method wherein a probing medium containing a permeation liquid is supplied between surfaces desired to detect flaws on a contactor to perform an ultrasonic flaw detection test and pattern indicating a defect by the permeation liquid is detected after a required time for allowing the permeation of the permeation liquid passes from the supply of the contact medium containing the permeation liquid. CONSTITUTION:A contact medium containing a permeation liquid is supplied between surfaces 3, 11 and 23 desired to detect flaws to perform an ultrasonic flaw detection test and a pattern indicating a defect by the permeation liquid is detected after a required time to allow the permeation of the permeation liquid passes from the supply of the contact medium containing the permeation liquid. The contact medium herein use is water, a machine oil or the like and the permeation liquid to applied to the contact medium uses a water washing or a solvent washing fluorescent or dye permeation liquid. The detection of the pattern indicating a defect by the permeation liquid is performed by visual inspection or an industrial TV. When the fluorescent permeation liquid is used, it is desired to detect the pattern indicating a defect with a dark room 25. This enables detection of not only a defect existing near an opening of a surface or near the surface but also a defect in depth of material with a high working efficiency.
