PURPOSE:To shorten the arithmetic time in the converting method for a color coordinate space which is used by the color system of an output device connected to a computer. CONSTITUTION:For nonlinear coordinate conversion to Lab, etc., as a color system which is isotropic to the human sense of sight on the basis of the BGR signal obtained from a read sensor, the color coordinate conversion is performed by using plural or single linear conversion expression within a determined coordinate range of the color specification coordinate system. For example, y=x<1/3> is approximated with plural straight lines. Consequently, while the conversion precision is maintained, the arithmetic time can greatly be shortened. |
