<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an image pickup device having a simplified hand-giggle correction device. CONSTITUTION:A liquid whose refractive index is changed through the application of an electric field is enclosed in a prism 19 and the prism 19 is provided on an optical axis. Angular velocity information attended with an shake of the image pickup device given to a microcomputer 25 from angular velocity sensors 14a, 14b provided to a case is obtained, and based on the information and hand-giggle discrimination information prepared in advance in the microcomputer 25, the presence of hand-giggle is discriminated and when the presence of hand-giggle is discriminated, a predetermined control voltage is applied to the liquid in the prism 19. Thus, a refractive index of the liquid is revised and the optical axis of the image pickup light incident with a tilt due to the hand-giggle is change to be perpendicular with respect to an image forming face of a solid-state image pickup element 12 to correct the hand-giggle, the hand-giggle correction device is simplified and the entire device is made small in size.</p> |
