PURPOSE:To display a part which is reduced in the number of colors to a color completely different from its original color with a color close to the original color tone by color number reducing display for the full-color image. CONSTITUTION:When a user indicates mode switching since part of the full-color image 22 becomes completely different from the original color after a color number reduction part 8 reduces the colors of the image 22 in normal mode wherein the value of a flag 26 is '0' by using a color number reduction pallet 23 generated from the whole full-color image 22 specifies the position of the area including the part, the value of the mode flag 26 is set to '1' to indicate a specific mode, data indicating the specific area are stored in an area data storage area 27, and after a color number reduction pallet generation part 7 generates a color number reduction pallet 24 in the state for the full-color image 22 in the specific area, the color number reduction part 8 reduces the number of colors of the full-color image 22 by using the pallet 24 and redisplays the image. |
