PURPOSE:To emphasize a character superimposed on a background picture. CONSTITUTION:A video signal SV for background picture is subjected to clamp processing and the result is fed to a switch 3. A generator 5 provides an output of a character pulse PCA corresponding to a character part and a pulse PAF corresponding to a character after singing based on orchestral accompaniment character data DCA. A memory 8 controls a read timing of a before-singing pulse PBE so that a display position of a character before-singing in an odd and an even number field comes to a left eye picture position and a right eye picture position at which the character is recognized in front of a pattern. The switch 3 is controlled by a pulse PAD being the sum of a before singing pulse PBE' and an after singing pulse PAF from the memory 8. A picture in which a display position of the character before singing comes to left and right eye picture position is alternately displayed based on a video signal Vout formed by inserting a character signal to the video signal SVa. Each picture is observed alternately by left and right eyes by using a picture selection means such as a polarized light filter. The character part before-singing is recognized in front of the pattern. |
