<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the circuit scale by equipping the device, which divides a band and performs encoding, with an encoding circuit which encodes not all divided band signals, but only a previously set band signal. CONSTITUTION:A band dividing circuit 102 divides an inputted audio signal into four bands. Encoding is not performed for the highest band among the four bands and the respective band signals of the remaining bands are encoded by encoding circuits 103, 104, and 105 respectively and multiplexed and outputted by a multiplexer circuit 106.</p> |
