PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient starting torque, reduce power consumption and improve a driving efficiency by a method wherein adhesive having a high hardness is employed to bond an electromechanical conversion element and an elastic element to each other. CONSTITUTION:A stator 1 is composed of a piezoelectric element 12 which is excited by a driving signal and an elastic element 11 which is jointed to the piezoelectric element 12 and generates a propagating vibration wave on its driving plane 11a by the excitation. A mover 2 is composed of a mover base 21 which are connected to an object to be moved and a sliding member 22 which is jointed to the mover base 21 and whose sliding plane 22a is pressed against the driving plane 11a of the elastic element 11. The piezoelectric element 12 and the elastic element 11 are bonded to each other with an adhesive layer 13 whose Vickars hardness Hv is not less than 8.0. As a result, the attenuation of an energy transmitted from the piezoelectric element 12 to the elastic element 11 is reduced. With this constitution, a sufficient starting torque can be obtained, a power consumption can be reduced and a driving efficiency can be improved. |
