PURPOSE:To provide a discharge lamp lighting device which can certainly stop the oscillation when a lamp is set off and which can lower the output voltage of inverter. CONSTITUTION:One of the primary winding segments 15 of a current transformer 14 is connected between one end of the secondary winding of a transformer 5 and one of the filaments of a lamp 11, and a capacitor C1 is connected parallel with this primary winding segment 15 and the filament F1, and the other primary winding segment 16 of the current transformer 14 is connected between the other filament F2 of the lamp 11 and the other end of the secondary winding 16 of the transformer 14. Another capacitor C2 is connected parallel with the primary winding segment 16 and the filament F2, and the drive current to self-excitingly turn on and off a switching transistor 6 to be conected with the primary side of the transformer 5 is taken out from the secondary winding 17 of the current transformer 14. Because at least either of them 15, 16 is set off from the main circuit in which the load current flows when the lamp 11 is put out of place, the drive current either lessens or nullifies, and the self- exciting oscillation is stopped. |
