In a method for processing vegetable or fruit products, inter alia, which are picked, placed onto a conveyor system, packaged and processed further, prior to packaging of the products, products picked that day are temporarily stored and, if desired, the total quantity of product can then be processed further as a whole. The temporary storage of the total quantity of products takes place in belt storage buffers which are preferably parallel and can be emptied as desired, so that in principle there is no connection between the supply of picked products and the processing of the products from the temporary store. Sensor and control means control the path to the temporary buffers which the supplied products cover.
