The heater selects proper diameters of a mandrel wire and a tungsten wire, and a winding pitch ratio of the tungsten wire so that it can minimize the thermal variation of the electron gun cathode when inserting the regularly wound heater wire into the cathode. The diameter of the tunsten wire (A), wound around the mandrel wire (B, molybdenum wire), is 34-38 % of that of the mandrel wire.
