The apparatus and method prevents the temp of the showcase interior from abruptly going up, and maximizes the efficiency of the air film in an front openning of the open showcase. The air circulation apparatus comprises a defrosting air circulation device (10)/a cooling air circulation device (20) installed in an air circulation duct (40); an air inlet (17) inducing the air circulating through the duct (40); a 1st blowing fan (11) blowing the air passed through the air inlet (17); an evaporator (13) attaching a defrosting heater (12); a plate (16) changing the flow direction of the air pased through the evaporator (13); a solenoid valve (15) controlling the position of the plate (16); a 2nd blowing fan (21) blowing the air circulated in the duct (40); an air outlet (22) feeding the air blown from the blower fan (21) toward an air outlet (22); a 2nd solenoid valve (23) controlling the position of a plate (24).
