The present invention relates to the sections used for supporting and keeping under tension a false ceiling or false wall made of a sheet of plastic. The said sections (1) include two contiguous cavities communicating at the top, one of them (4) open downwards allows the insertion and accommodation of the border (3) of the false ceiling (2) or the false wall, and the other (10) which is closed at the bottom forms a channel for routing a rope (halyard) (15). These sections also include coupling means (11-12) so as to form a double section and joining means (14) allowing them each (1m-1f) to constitute a batten with continuous edge. The fastening of the border (3) onto the shoulder (5a) requires the interaction of two spatulate elements, unfastening requires the cooperation of the rope (15). <IMAGE>
