The component (1) has a body (2) made of a thermoplastic material which is injection-moulded onto the edge of a sheet (3). The said sheet (3) is made of a thermally stable and thermally insulating material, for example glass fibre, ceramic fibre or aramide fibre. In the edge region, the sheet (3) is microporous or has projecting fibres with microscopic recesses. Into the corresponding recesses or pores of the sheet (3) there is injected the moulded body (2) for establishing a positive connection. The component may be produced in a single operation using the injection-moulding method, the sheet (3) being placed in an injection mould and a thermoplastic material subsequently being injected to form the moulded body (2). <IMAGE>
