The prefabricated structural panel (16) with a castable, settable composition (22) serves for the production of lightweight structural walls or exterior claddings. A core (10) consisting of a lightweight, heat-insulating and/or sound-insulating material has the settable composition (22) cast around it on all sides. Preferably, for better sound insulation, a channel (30, 32), which separates the settable composition (22) and forms two load-bearing shells (22a, 22b), is formed approximately in the centre of the narrow sides. An apparatus for producing structural panels (16) which are rectangular in elevation comprises a profile frame which forms the narrow sides of said panels and has short legs, fastened pivotably on a long leg, and a releasably fastenable other long leg. The structural panel (16) offers advantages which are decisive, in particular, with respect to its weight, its heat-insulation and/or sound-insulation and the restriction of crack formation. <IMAGE>
