The invention relates to a filling and monitoring device for a vessel which can be filled with a liquid to a defined level, in particular for an automatic transmission in a motor vehicle, having an introduction opening and a closable overflow opening at said level. In order to achieve precise filling which can be managed simply, the overflow opening is closed by means of a valve and is provided with a connection device which permits the connection of a valve-opening filling and discharge appliance.
