The invention relates to an arrangement of display boards for a coin-operated gaming machine or entertainment machine. The object of the invention was to propose an arrangement of completely different display boards with different types of playing elements and a corresponding method of activation, so that a combination of different types of playing systems with different playing elements is obtained in one machine. This object is achieved in that there is provided on the front side a first display board which consists of individual backlightable fields and which is arranged as a revolving square, as a meander arrangement, as a circular ring arrangement, as a row arrangement, as a column arrangement, as a star arrangement, as a matrix or as combinations of the abovementioned basic shapes in the manner of a board game. These individual backlightable fields of the first display board can be activated in an event-dependent manner via the central control unit. Provided for generating these events is at least one first die device which is dependent on chance and which is connected to the random-number generator of the central control unit. To active the first display board arranged in the manner of a board game, there is provided at least one further playing element formed from a second die device which, in turn, is connected to the central control unit and the random-number generator of the latter. <IMAGE>
