The invention relates to a hydropneumatic axle suspension for vehicles, especially for multi-axle road cranes with axles articulated on a chassis frame of the vehicle, with hydraulic cylinders for each wheel on the axles supporting the chassis frame, which cylinders are connected to a gas accumulator or spring energy store and by way of filling and drain lines to filling and drain valves, with a transducer arranged on at least one hydraulic cylinder for the detection of at least predetermined extended positions of the hydraulic cylinder, and with an electric or electronic control unit for level control of the vehicle, which is connected to the filling and drain valves and transducers. According to the invention it is proposed that the transducers be designed as displacement transducers (13), that a displacement transducer (13) be assigned to each hydraulic cylinder (4) and that the control unit (12) be connected to a set-point adjuster (14) for the freely preselectable adjustment of the extended position of the hydraulic cylinder (4). <IMAGE>
