Oscillation damper with a variable damping force

Oscillation (vibration) damper consisting of a piston rod and of a piston with damping valves, a bypass which connects the working spaces being provided in parallel with the damping valves of the piston and an axially displaceable control rod for varying the cross-section of the bypass being arranged in the cavity of the piston rod. To provide a simple and economical bypass-adjusting device and a simple adjusting device that can be replaced readily, the control rod is acted upon by a driving device and, together with the longitudinal bore, forms a seat valve.
