<p>A device for generating droplets of fluid has a fluid supply or reservoir (9, 10) and an electromechanical transducer (2). Electrodes (3, 4) are arranged so as to cause expansion or contraction of the transducer in a dimension perpendicular to the applied electric field. An element (5) is coupled for movement with the expansion/contraction of the transducer in the direction of the said dimension and positioned for contact with fluid from the supply means in order to dispense droplets.</p> |
