摘要 A wound penetrator for a kinetic energy projectile consists of a core (2) made of tungsten and of a sheet (8) made of heavy metal. The binding of the sheet (8) made of heavy metal to the core (2), and the binding of the individual turns of the winding to one another are ensured by a metallic binding layer (7). The pressure which is required for the binding is produced by circumferential rollers (3) when the core (2) is being driven in rotation. Straight, calibrated bars for penetrators are produced in a simple and cost-effective manner. There is no need for reworking of the bars because of lack of straightness, incorrect calibration and unbalance. <IMAGE>
