摘要 In the area of the user interface of computation systems, very large quantities of data occur. The result is that the main processor is continuously loaded, so that the computing power which is available for the actual application is greatly reduced, and it is impossible to predict it without restricting user enquiries. The new computer architecture is intended to achieve higher and more exactly predictable performance. To break the dependency of the rest of the system on the user interface, the computer is divided up so that part 1 is responsible for the tasks of the user interface in presentation and function, part 2 for processing the application programs without their user interface, and part 3 for the remaining functional units. All parts have their own internal data paths. An interface between parts 1 and 2 supports the exchange of messages and data, without affecting the independent running of processes in the parts. Parts 1 and 2 have their own access path to common devices in part 3.
