The invention relates to a device making it possible to accelerate the exhaust gases, using a partial vacuum, for an internal combustion engine. The partial vacuum producer (1), connected to the engine (2) (or any other device capable of giving it inertia), sucks out the air located in the first exhaust duct, or directly from the combustion chamber, and thus causes a partial vacuum in the combustion chamber when the exhaust opens. The device is fitted to all types of internal combustion engines, and particularly to two-stroke engines. This device allows an increase in power, a decrease in pollution and in fuel consumption. One or more safety systems could be appended to it, making it possible to disengage (8, 9, 10) or to circumvent the partial vacuum producer (5, 6, 7) in the event of incorrect operation so that it then does not slow down the exiting of the exhaust gases. <IMAGE>
